Tribal Way of Life for New Zealand
There is little doubt that we shall be returning to a more tribal way of life. In an insecure and dangerous world, the importance of family and community will be paramount once again, as enshrined in the tribal way of life. This is not necessarily a bad thing here in New Zealand, where we can call upon the tribal traditions of the extended family in Maori custom. It will be a good way of reconciling Maori and Pakeha and drawing on the strengths of both traditions in racial and spiritual harmony.
Fortress New Zealand predicts that, in an increasingly militaristic world, the role of the warrior will once again become prominent, and that this in turn will bring about a return to more old-fashioned, traditional values. This means a return to a more male-dominated culture, where heterosexual values are uppermost, and where women’s role in raising children and looking after the home is once again seen as an honourable and invaluable role – not one to be despised and avoided.
As central government is increasingly seen as the problem, rather than the solution, and the country starts to fragment back into semi-autonomous regions and districts, we are likely to see the emergence of local warlords – as we already see in more remote, less controlled parts of the world. The important thing is to ensure that the weapons are in the hands of the good guys!
