Ideal level of Population

For NZ, less than it is now. Maybe 3 million. The trade deficit (more later) goes up with population. Auckland is too overpopulated; the rest of the country is about right. Just 25 years ago it was 700,000 now it is 1.2 million, nearly double. No-one in Auckland works in export earning industries in general - there are exceptions e.g. Rakon and Navman but these are rare. Most of NZ earnings are from Agricultural produce from areas outside of Auckland. Ben Davies
